Root canal treatment is also known as endodontic treatment. It is a treatment in which an infected or badly decayed tooth is repaired to relieve root canal pain. The root canal contains nerves and blood vessels.
Some of the common signs which indicate that you need a root canal are –
Excessive pain in the teeth while eating anything or when you put pressure on that particular area
Sensitivity to hot and cold, even when the food item is removed.
Swelling or tenderness in gums
Darkening of teeth
Small bump (pimple-like) on the gums near the pain area
Common causes of root canal pain include –
Tooth decay which has penetrated the outer layer of the teeth
Damage, cracks, chips in the teeth
Infection in the tooth pulp
Maintaining excellent oral hygiene, i.e., brushing twice a day (early morning and before going to bed)
Visit the dentist regularly to check and get advice on time for conditions like cavities, bad breath, root canal, fillings, and crowns treatment.
